Each frame is precision-built from solid Red Oak, stained a deep, rich black, and finished with two coats of premium Osmo Polyx-Oil Satin. This specialized finish highlights the bold, tactile grain characteristics unique to Red Oak while providing a durable, smooth, low-sheen satin luster.
Because the customer provided loose canvas prints, a standard retail frame wouldn’t cut it. This project required a dual-layer artisan build:
Custom Stretcher Cores: Internal support frames were custom-milled to the exact 7" x 20" dimensions to tension and square the loose canvas.
Flush Outer Inset: The stretched artwork was then perfectly fitted into the black oak outer frames, creating a flat, secure, and flush profile that prevents sagging or warping over time.
Materials: Premium Solid Red Oak, Black Grain-Enhancing Stain, Osmo Polyx-Oil Satin.
